Long, Penske Development Driver Kligerman Sweep ARCA RE/MAX Front Row

Millville, N.J. (September 12, 2009) -

Patrick Long's lap of 1:21.324 (99.602 mph) edged out Cunningham Motorsports teammate and Penske development driver Parker Kligerman by 0.09 seconds to earn pole position in ARCA RE/MAX Series qualifying for Sunday's South Jersey Building Trades 150 at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, N.J.

Long, a road course specialist from the Grand-Am and American Le Mans sports car series, earned the pole in his first ARCA RE/MAX Series start.

"To have never been to New Jersey Motorsports Park or sat in an ARCA car before, this is great," Long said. "I knew the competition here was high, and Parker is a good road racer. We made miniscule changes to the car today, which is a testament to how good the Cunningham team is."

Kligerman earned 10 bonus points as the second-fastest qualifier to close the championship gap to just 25 points behind Justin Lofton, who qualified fourth.

Sports car drivers Justin Marks and Spencer Pumpelly qualified third and fifth, respectively, in the stock car series' only road course race of the season.

Tom Hessert, of Cherry Hill, N.J., qualified 11th after spinning during his qualifying session.

The South Jersey Building Trades 150 begins at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday.
